It as been stressful few months for all of us. But good news! At present you can still book a hen party or birthday burlesque class with us! While practicing social distancing, you can still dance, shimmy and laugh for your dance party! Brighton offers large venues which are perfect for social distancing. We know some of you had to cancel your plans during lockdown and hope you are able to reschedule it. We are here to help! Not to late to have a sneaky weekend in Brighton with your best friends and learn the magic of burlesque! All our props are cleaned before and after classes. Gel is provided when you enter the venue and we make sure you have space between each other.

Life is now different but that shouldn’t mean not fun. While respecting government guidelines, you can still celebrate. Learn the art of teasing, learn a routine while using props! From chair dancing to walking like a showgirl with boas, Burlesque is just what you need!

Body Acceptance

It takes time, it’s a journey. It took me 15 years to feel good in my body. Dancing helped considerably. It’s a battle, a fight that only you can win. People can help you, support you but you are the conductor of this orchestra.

I have done it all. From food restriction to over exercising. It is exhausting and not healthy for your body and mind.

Be kind to your body. Be kind to your friend’s, son’s, sister’s or daughter’s body.

Being a teenager is one of the most complicated time. I was born petite with a few extra pounds but that was enough to feel uncomfortable. I didn’t like my body. I didn’t understand why some of us were born tall and slim and some differently.

 During this time your entourage plays an important role. Everything said stays in your mind. It should all be about encouraging, supporting and telling that person how beautiful she is, no matter what. 

I encourage all teenagers, boys and girls, to join a dance class! And parents to suggest it! It helps being aware of your body, whom is changing so fast at that age. It builds your confidence, gets you prepare for the future.

If you don’t accept your body and feel you won’t until you change, telling yourself you are beautiful may not be enough. There is no magic, it is a process. Everyone is different but for me dancing and exercising was the key to happiness. It changed the way I perceived my body.  It changed my mindset. 

Be kind to your body

 The key is to do something you love. It’s like a job, you will never do a great job unless you enjoy it. Don’t join a gym if you hate it or force yourself to join a bootcamp. Try different sports, experiment. You might like the sport but not the group and vies versa. Find what is right for you. We are lucky to live in Brighton, it is full of opportunities! Don’t forget the sea for swimming ;).

Only persist what makes you happy to the point you should forget you are actually exercising. Trust me I do. When I dance, time stops!

 I fell in love with group exercise classes and dancing. I love the dancing community and how fast you can make new friends. We are all in together. There is a strong sense of solidarity in a dance class. I made friends for life from dancing! 

How Burlesque changed my life

 Let’s face it, as ladies our body changes significantly through age! Our hips, thighs, breast and butt develop! Burlesque dancing was meant to be. Burlesque is all about curves, sensuality and confidence. 

After my first few months of Burlesque dancing, my thighs became toned, my butt got lifted, my posture improved and I even lost some weight! All of this while enjoying it and having fun! 

 It’s about accepting your body and enjoying it, we love curves in Burlesque!  

I use to be shy about my body, now I crave being on stage and dancing with a chair and boa! A new woman!

I wish to all of us to find peace in this journey of body acceptance, we are all in together.

This is the occasion to shine and get all your best friends to experience it, together, as a team of goddess! 

Expect to shimmy, strike the pose, dance like a cabaret goddess and have a laugh! 

Together you will learn to boost your confidence and celebrate your body. By the end of the class, regardless of your level, you will all be able to do a small routine! A fantastic souvenir, if you wish our cameras will be ready to record you and the girls!

 It is about not taking yourself seriously! You will learn the secret of Burlesque, from dancing with boas to playing with feather fans! By the end of the class, every groups we have seen were closer together than ever. Dancing is a fantastic way to bond, in a relax atmosphere. 

Back to your Airbnb or hotel, it is time to wear your amazing outfit and shine all night!

We did once met a group the same day following the class in a night club by chance! We all ended up doing the routine again! Spectators were amazed!

It is an exciting time for all couples planning their wedding! September is the perfect month for some wedding shows! The weather can still be gorgeous and feel like summer! Sussex offers a lot of fantastic locations, on the seafront or in the country side. You can find venues for every tastes! From castles, to beautiful gardens and marquees and of course charming barns.

 1-   Castle Goring Wedding Show!

On Sunday 22nd of September, join the Castle Goring for a beautiful day! Surrounded by forests, this historic place is located just outside of Worthing. This venue offers several options for your big day. One of our favourite is the stunning Ceremonial Hall. If the weather is good why not have a marquee overlooking a beautiful view. The entry is free and you could win a honeymoon.

 2-  The Ravenswood 

Ravenswood is surrounded by Ashdown Forest in West Sussex. The venue is a gorgeous 15thcentury manor house which offers ceremonies for up to 120 guests. The evening party can host up to 300 guests. With its 33 bedrooms, Ravenswood is a great choice for your wedding! Be sure to offer your family and friends great accommodation!

The Royal Pavilion is one the most iconic building of Brighton. Its history is breath-taking! And so it the two rooms where your ceremony could be hold. This year a new room has been opened to wedding ceremonies! If you are looking for something spectacular, the magnificent Music Room is your venue! The room was created for George IV in order to entertain and hold music concerts. The room is available for evenings ceremony only as the Pavilion is open to public during the day. With a capacity of 90 guests, exchange your vows in this magnificent and historic room. No wedding decorations necessary, the room on its own creates the magic, with its nine beautiful chandeliers. The bride in white will shine in this room with a red and gold colour scheme. Another great point is that guests will enter thought he main entrance and the Chinese theme gallery, be sure to have a Woao effect!

 4-  The Mercure Hotel Wedding Show 2019

Join the Mercure hotel Wedding show on the 29thof September! The show offers up to 35 exhibitors which will help you create your ideal wedding day. You will be able to see the venue and talked to a team which will help you relax and organise your big day! Located right on the sea front, the Mercure is a fantastic location! its elegant reception room has a white, grey colour scheme. Of course wedding photos will be stunning with the sea as your background!

Christmas Parties coming up!

It is this time of the year! When we start thinking about Christmas parties! I am very excited, Christmas is one my favourite time of the year! All the food, spirit, decorations and parties! Some shops such as Waitrose and Aldi are already showing some Christmas treats and decorations! It is crazy early but well… we love it!

It is also the time for companies to start planning their Christmas party in Brighton. Work Christmas parties can look similar years after years. I am guessing the usual pre-drinks, dinner and some dancing in a club! But what if this year your office planned something different! An evening of feathers, sexy moves and laugh! all topped with some bubbly to start the celebration! Dancing is a great way to have fun and forget about the work! You will all feel glamorous and have great memories from it!

Let us take care of the planning and enjoy your night! you will learn basic moves of burlesque dancing, play some games and learn a routine! The studios usually have a bar so you will be able to order some cocktails for your parties! We will take come photos during the class and of course send them to you!

Shall we dance?

Can pregnant ladies join a Dance Class?

The answer is yes! Our classes are design for every age, every type of body and all experience. Being a future mummy doesn’t mean you will miss out the fun of the party! The routine and movements are low impact. The environment and dance routine are safe from any knees injury, back pain and pregnancy.

We use sometimes chairs so you will be seating or standing but never jumping around, unless the group feels like it! 

We have had many pregnant ladies in our Burlesque dance class. Before the class feel free to contact me and ask any questions if you have any concerns.

The only recommendation we make is to wear flat shoes, or very low heels, as your center of gravity has slightly moved. Of course comfortable clothes are best, for example a black legging and a nice top. Accessories are definitely a yes, pregnant or not! You could add hair accessories or your own necklace of gloves! Other than that you will be able to shimmy, dance with our boas and feather fans with your friends!

Sexy is an attitude and we have proof that future mummies are as sexy as the other ladies! Just Dance Brighton embrace our body shape and the more curves we have the best it is for the class! So let’s enjoy and dance!  

Oh and soft drinks are provided of course if I know we have some future mummies in the group!

The class has breaks so you will have some time to have a soft drink and relax.

A master piece of architecture in the centre of Brighton, the Pavillion is an iconic building to visit! You can enjoy an afternoon tea on the first floor terrace looking at the Pavillion Gardens. Most days the park has some live music! One of the pathway from the park takes you to New Road, a semi pedestrian road with some of the best pubs! The famous Mash Tun has outside seating area and is always full!
